Where creativity, arts education, and cultural expression is visible and accessible to all.
Join Forbes Graham (trumpet) and John Dalton (percussion) in Menino Hall as they improvise together while Tommey improvises with them in paint. An evening of sonic and colorful exploration. Free and open to the public.
Among the many artists who have painted to jazz are Miles Davis, Gina Southgate, Jackson Pollock, Jean-Michel Basquiat, even Whitney Stanley, who currently has a show at the ICA or local artist, Betsy Hughes, a long-time friend. Tommey will follow in that tradition and will spontaneously create on several canvases. Come watch and see what is inspired and transpires, and is improvised and comes alive.
Forbes Graham is a composer, musician, sound artist, and visual artist whose work explores themes of simultaneity, perceptibility, transformation and collage. He has appeared on over 40 albums, primarily on trumpet, but also on electronics. He is a member of Mobius Artists Group, a collective of experimenting artists.
