Tree Care Hyde Park Community Art Workshop at the Hyde Park Library

September 10 @ 6:00 pm7:30 pm
Get to know our neighborhood trees in this writing and printing workshop with artist Jane D. Marsching in the Hyde Park Library garden

Gather with the trees in the garden of the Hyde Park Branch of the Boston Public Library to learn about how our urban trees care for us and how we can care for them. Participants are invited to hum, breathe, move, whisper, and dream with the trees, to write invitations to the trees to join us in our everyday lives and share our dreams about what trees are and hope for. We will choose some short phrases to print on the textile tree tags using the Tree Care Printing/Planting Press. Community members can choose to take a tree tag and hang them on trees in their yard, neighborhood, or park.

Seating will be mostly on a large picnic blanket, but a few chairs will be provided for those who need them.

Free to attend, registration required. Signup limit 20

Parking is available at the city lot on Harvard Avenue and the session is accessible via the Fairmount or Hyde Park Commuter Rail stations.

Rain date: September 17, 6:00-7:30pm (email will be sent out regarding the rain date in the event of rain on the morning of September 10)
