Juneteenth Joy 2025

OUR NEW LOCATION: NEW MISSION HIGH SCHOOL, 655 METROPOLITAN AVENUE, HYDE PARK!

Parking is on the streets around the school. We will launch at 9 a.m. with Mayor Michelle Wu, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, and Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll. Community awards will take place at this time as well.

Door prizes of We Move In Color Tickets, TJ Maxx, and Life Alive Gift cards will be awarded between 9:30 and 10:30 and again between noon and 2 p.m. Food will be available for purchase, along with our Macaroni and Cheese and Rice and Beans contest. Free tastings and voting are encouraged! at 11am – Join us for our Fashion Show and dance and vocal performances. More door prizes will be announced at this time.

There will be lots to do- come early and stay until 3pm!

1. Arrival – Parking is available either on the street or in the school parking lot. Please be respectful of driveways and emergency access areas. When you arrive, please go to the check-in desk outside the Auditorium for information and directions to ensure the day is successful. You will get your assignments and updates there. ALL GUESTS enter through the FRONT DOOR of the building.

2. Attireβ€” This is a casual event. Afro-centric attire is encouraged for our guests.

3. Food will be available in the designated area, and meals will be available for purchase.

4. The day’s events are designed with the community in mind. Please be sure to participate and share the attached flyers with everyone.

5. Security and Safety: You will be in the building, but you are also responsible for keeping everyone safe. There will be Police and others available as well. Along with being vigilant, your demonstrated respect and care for others will be of the utmost importance during the day. The Check-in Desk has emergency exit information, and there will be first aid personnel on hand.

6. A photographer and videographer will be at the event. Your attendance serves as consent to be photographed.

7. The Check-in Desk is “ground zero.” It will have all the information you need.
