Conversation with Dr. Bettye Kearse author of “The Other Madisons: The Lost History of a President’s Black Family”.

Dr. Kearse, a retired pediatrician from Dorchester is her family’s oral historian. She will trace her lineage to an enslaved cook and her enslaver, President James Madison. She is currently writing a book about Dr. Rebecca Crumpler. Dr. Kearse will speak with us via a Zoom link which you can get by emailing mmakkouk@bpl.com.
