Creative Storytelling Workshops with Amanda Shea
Session 7: Poems for the Future: Messages to the Next Generation
Each session will include light creative warm-ups, hands-on activities, and opportunities for participants to share, reflect, and celebrate their stories. Max. of 12 participants.
Overview: Elders write and share messages, advice, or affirmations for young LGBTQ+ people, contributing to intergenerational dialogue and resilience.
Activities:
- Short writing warm-ups + group discussion
- Each participant creates a “poetic message” to future queer youth
- Amanda performs a final piece to close the circle
Takeaway: Poems compiled and optionally shared with youth at community centers or schools
These storytelling workshops are designed to honor LGBTQ+ elder voices, foster community connections, and create space for personal expression through poetry, visual art, music, and memory. Amanda Shea will guide each session with care, creativity, and intention.
