DESCRIPTION:Enjoy an evening of jazz with Alex Minasian Trio. Their musical selections will honor the legends of jazz music\, including Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk\, as well as music from the Great American Songbook. The trio includes pianist Alex Minasian\, bassist John Sullivan\, and drummer Lee Fish. \nAlex Minasian was the last pianist for legendary vocalists Little Jimmy Scott and Mark Murphy. He has studied with some of the greatest pianists in jazz history\, including Hank Jones\, Don Friedman\, Jean-Michel Pilc and James Williams\, and has performed in many of the country’s most famous jazz rooms\, such as Birdland\, the Blue Note\, Cafe Carlyle\, Yoshi’s\, Bohemian Caverns Iridium\, Jazz @ Lincoln Center\, the Village Vanguard and the Apollo Theater. \nThis programming is supported through the generosity of donors to the BPL Fund and its Branching-Out Creative Catalyst Mini-Grant Program. DESCRIPTION:Eric Royer\, long time Dorchester resident\, has performed as Royer’s One-Man Band since the mid-90s. He has recorded and traveled extensively after building his one-of-a-kind self-made music contraption The Guitar Machine which allows him to play guitar\, bass and drums while picking finger style guitar or banjo with his hands and singing and playing harmonica. Royer has won a Boston music award for Best Roots Act as the banjo player in his band The Resophonics and has played and recorded with many Boston based bluegrass bands. http://guitarmachine.com \nHomefried Valentines are a husband and wife duo playing original music with an eclectic Pop/Rock vibe on a combination of instruments – electric tenor ukulele\, electric guitar\, and cocktail kit drums. Musicians Michael and Carla Eigen have each been nominated for local Boston music awards.  The New England Music Awards nominated Michael Eigen for Roots Act of the Year as a singer-songwriter and drummer for the band Los Goutos.  Carla Eigen was a nominee for Outstanding Local Female Vocalist by the Boston Music Awards as the front woman for the band Sextiles. Both Michael and Carla have been active members in the local Boston scene for 20+ years in various separate projects prior to spinning off to create a post pandemic duo. DESCRIPTION:Jared Sims performs on all of the saxophones as well as clarinet and flute. He has toured the US\, Europe\, South America\, and Asia. Sims has performed/recorded with a diverse array of artists including Rufus Reid\, Dave Liebman\, Matt Wilson\, Han Bennink\, Cecil McBee\, Bob Brookmeyer\, Oteil Burbridge\, G Love\, Melvin Sparks\, Soulive\, Temptations\, Four Tops\, 10\,000 Maniacs\, Artie Shaw Orchestra\, and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. He has headlined venues in Bangkok\, Kuala Lumpur\, New York\, Boston\, Washington\, Seattle\, and Pittsburgh. His most recent albums include an experimental rock/jazz fusion recording called Hellbender and an album of jazz standards. Music Republic Magazine calls Sims “one of the most exciting saxophonists and band leaders heard in a long time.” Luciano Berio’s Sequenza pieces were the topic of his doctoral research. In recent years\, Martín has been focusing on singing professionally in a national band called The Sultans and creating original music.\nMartín Silva es guitarrista y cantante y ha estado activo en la escena de Boston desde hace 20 años.
